Amazon Apple Google To create a common communication standard for Internet appliances December 19 10:40

Three major IT companies in the United States have collaborated in the field of home appliances with communication functions, so-called Internet home appliances, to create a common communication standard. There seems to be an aim to lead to further expansion of the online consumer electronics market.

Three major American IT companies, Amazon.com, Apple, and Google, announced on August 18 that they will establish a working group in the field of Internet appliances and create a common communication standard in the industry.

This means that IKEA, who handles furniture, will also participate in this group.

Once the new standard has been created, the technology will be made public and available to companies that want it for free.

Until now, IT companies have developed their own systems for connecting AI speakers and lighting via the Internet, but home appliance manufacturers needed to support multiple systems.

According to an American research company, worldwide shipments of such home appliances are expected to increase from more than 800 million to 1.5 billion in 2023.

IT companies are expected to have a common standard to help manufacturers develop new products and improve consumer convenience, leading to further market expansion.
