Berlin (dpa) - More than 1000 members of Jewish communities from all over Germany come together in Berlin for a nationwide meeting.
“At home in Germany” - this was the motto of the Central Council of Jews for panel discussions, film discussions, readings and lectures. The community day opens with a speech by Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
Representatives from politics, science, churches and culture are also invited to the meeting, which takes place every three years, including Federal Defense Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer (CDU), the Federal Government's Anti-Semitism Commissioner, Felix Klein, and former Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer.
In discussions, the participants want to exchange questions about Jewish identity, Zionism and the fight against anti-Semitism.
