It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the letter of the organization.

It is clarified that the chamber’s statement refers to a bill called “On Protecting American Security from Kremlin Aggression,” which the US Senate Foreign Affairs Committee is going to consider.

“The chamber urges the committee to review the legislative act and finalize it in order to avoid causing significant economic damage to US firms and US competitiveness in the world,” the letter said in an email sent to the committee.

As noted in the House, these restrictions will not be able to greatly affect Russia, taking into account the gold reserves of the Russian government, while they will cause "serious damage to the activities of American companies in Russia."

According to the organization, if the bill is passed, American companies will be forced to abandon energy projects that are carried out with Russian participation.

Earlier, the US Treasury Department imposed sanctions against a number of citizens and companies from Russia for malicious activity in the cyber sphere. Later, the agency excluded several companies from the list.

Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Foreign Affairs Alexei Chepa in an interview with the FAN commented on this decision by the US Treasury.
