- I want to emphasize that this is not a dramatic change. It is a natural efficiency enhancement that we do, says Joel Nordkvist (M), who is chairman of the Board of Children and Education.

The committee will save SEK 13.6 million next year. 4 million of them will be collected in what is called non-statutory activities. The leisure clubs are one such part. And during Wednesday's meeting, it was clear that the leisure clubs should be made more efficient with SEK 1 million.

- The association-driven leisure clubs will not be affected, says Joel Nordkvist.

Seems like natural settlement

On the other hand, the others can be affected. Torvalla is one such example. But this is a natural settlement, says Joel Nordkvist. This autumn, the new stage division will take place at the schools in the municipality. This means, among other things, that the Torvalla school becomes a pure 7-9 school. As a result, the basis for a leisure club in Torvalla is also disappearing.

Torvalla's leisure club was the only club that was raised during Wednesday's meeting. How the other leisure clubs will be affected by the financial efficiency is not clear.

- Then you will do a review to see where we can best make such efficiency improvements, so no dramatic changes will occur, says Joel Nordkvist.

The opposition did not participate in the decision

The opposition chose not to participate in the decision. This is because the documents arrived less than 24 hours before the meeting.

"We had no chance to take part in the retail budget," says Mona Modin Tjulin (S), vice chair of the committee.

However, the opposition is critical to, among other things, the efficiency improvement that is now announced within the leisure clubs. In the clip above, Mona Modin Tjulin tells more.
