The Englishman Kyle Sinckler, quickly replaced because of a concussion during the final of the Rugby World Cup, won by South Africa on November 2 in Japan (32-12), said Wednesday that he had " no memories "of the match.

"It took me three or four weeks to recover from the final. It was the black hole," explained the right pillar of fifteen of the Rose to the British agency PA.

Sinckler was forced to leave the lawn in the second minute after hitting his partner Maro Itoje during a two-man tackle on the winger of the Springboks Makazole Mapimpi.

"I really don't remember anything about the final. I was told I was out of the field but I don't remember," said Sinckler who had left the pitch while walking, before following following the bench test.

His exit had been one of the turning points of the match, the South Africans then making the difference in the closed scrum where his replacement, Dan Cole, had not been up to par. The "Boks" had collected five penalties in this sector, three of which had resulted in points to knock out the XV of the Rose.

"From what I've heard, South Africa played incredibly well and earned their victory," added the Harlequins player, who returned to competition with his club in the European Cup on December 7.
