“Discussions about legislative initiatives should not violate the law. I respect the opinion of Ukrainians, for several months we have been listening to reform proposals. However, at a meeting under the law on land, not the voices of farmers sound, but political slogans. Both protesters and policemen suffered because of them, ”he wrote on Telegram.
Zelensky noted that every citizen has the right to peaceful assembly and expression of his opinion. However, the leader of Ukraine recalled, a person should be held accountable if others suffered because of his actions.
“The authorities, as promised, are introducing amendments to the land law between the first and second reading based on discussions with the Ukrainians. We listen to people, ”Zelensky added.
Earlier it became known that during clashes near the building of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, 17 law enforcement officers were injured, 26 law enforcement officers were detained.
The riots began after protesters in Kiev tried to set up a military tent on the roadway on Grushevsky Street.
