Nowadays Gabriel is in grade eight instead of in fifth. And the fact that the Visland School could solve the situation for Gabriel is because all the parties involved are involved, says the headmaster.

- We looked at Gabriel's needs and worked out with everyone who needs to be involved and think. Of course, it was Gabriel himself and his parents, a school psychologist, special education teacher and the then headmaster who together made this decision, says Cecilia Wallinder.

Not everyone moves up

The school finally landed in that the best solution would be for Gabriel to move up three classes. Although, according to the National Agency for Education, as much as one student in each class is regarded as specially gifted, the situation is unusual both at Vislanda School and many other places in Sweden.

- It is not obvious that everyone is moving up, you have to take into account that you change friends when it comes to age and that is a challenge. We do not know everything about special talents and we do not know everything about anything else either. We are constantly learning how to meet students in the best way, we are probably never fully educated, says Cecilia Wallinder headmaster at Vislanda School.
