The Stockholm Chamber of Commerce's Urban Environment Award has been awarded since 1986 and will pay attention to projects that have contributed to an improvement of Stockholm's urban environment. The Chamber of Commerce motivates the award with the symbolism and function of the bridges increasing the city's attractiveness.

- It is a way of making connections between districts while creating valued buildings that facilitate people's lives in the city. The bridges create new relationships by stronger connecting parts of the city and contributing to increased movement between districts, says Andreas Hatzigeorgiou, CEO of Stockholm Chamber of Commerce.

But even though the bridge between Rinkeby and Stora Ursvik has been completed for two years, it is closed. In early December, SVT reported that the bridge bracket was closed at Sundbyberg.

"It will be opened in 2022 and will play a very important function," says Daniella Waldfogel, Business Policy Manager Stockholm Chamber of Commerce.

But why praise the effect of the bronze before the bridge is opened?

- We look forward to seeing how it will work when it opens in a few years. We think this bridge will make a big difference and maybe to some extent transform parts of the city, ”concludes Daniella Waldfogel.
