Former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf, in exile in Dubai, was sentenced to death in absentia Tuesday, December 17, for "high treason," said State Pakistan Radio Radio Pakistan.

The conviction relates to "his decision of November 3, 2007", the date on which he imposed the state of emergency in the country, his lawyer Akhtar Shah told AFP, saying that the ex-president "did nothing wrong".
