The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, issued a law approving the state budget for the fiscal year 2020, which starts from the beginning of next year.

According to a statement of the Qatari Ministry of Finance, the amount of revenue is estimated at $ 58 billion, while the surplus is estimated at $ 137 million.

The statement added that this year’s budget achieved a surplus of about $ 1.2 billion.

Qatar plans to spend nearly $ 25 billion on major projects during the next year, an increase of six-tenths percent of this year.

The Ministry of Finance said that the general budget for the year 2020 is considered the highest in terms of spending in five years, which reflects the country's commitment to implement various development programs in all sectors, including projects approved within the strategic development plan 2018-2022.
