Some of the people who heard about SVT were in central Halmstad when it burned on Stationsgatan. Despite this, they have not received the warning that the rescue services agreed that the fire smoke was dangerous.

- If it is true that you meet the criteria but have not received any message, I would contact the telecom operator, says Linn Eriksson, emergency preparedness coordinator at SOS Alarm.

A VMA (important message to the public) is a system used to alert people in, for example, an accident or serious incident. Warning can be sent by SMS to people who are in a certain area and it is always broadcast on radio and TV, according to the Swedish Agency for Social Protection and Emergency Preparedness.

In the clip, Linn Eriksson, emergency preparedness coordinator at SOS Alarm, explains what some may have to do with getting no VMA.
