The woman was last seen on Skepparegatan where during the afternoon she participated in a retirement meeting. The woman lives at a group residence nearby and it was staff from the accommodation who alerted the police when the woman did not show up.
During Monday night, police search for the woman in central parts of Borgholm with several patrols and dog drivers.
"It's dark and it's pretty chilly in the air, so we're eager to find her," says Patric Fors, press officer at the Police Region South.
The woman is described to be about 160 centimeters tall, has a normal physique and was wearing a mustard yellow jacket at the time of disappearance. The woman walks with a walker and usually wears glasses.
Police are now urging the public to contact them immediately if they see or have seen the woman.
