As noted, Roskomnadzor received data on restricting Twitter access to Rossotrudnichestvo accounts, the Good News project and Alexander Malkevich, chairman of the commission for the development of the information community, media and mass communications of the Russian Public Chamber.

In this regard, a letter was sent to the director of public policy in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Twitter - Sinead McSwinney.

“Unfortunately, the circumstances and reasons for such actions on the part of Twitter are still unknown and are puzzling,” the letter said.

It indicates that the publications posted by the accounts do not contain any illegal and dangerous information, and also do not contradict the rules of the resource itself.

Roskomnadzor expressed deep concern about the situation, since "such actions are contrary to the principles of freedom of information dissemination."

In the summer it was reported that Twitter blocked the account of the Russian diplomatic mission in Syria after the publication of the organization "White Helmets".

The Russian Foreign Ministry called on Twitter to immediately unblock the account of the Russian embassy.
