Witnesses reported today, Monday, that five members of an Iraqi family were killed by gunmen, while a six-month-old baby girl survived in a district of Basra, south of Baghdad.

The witnesses said, "A man, his wife, and three of their sons were killed at night by an armed group who stormed the house in Al-Muhandiseen neighborhood in the Al-Qibla area of ​​Basra Governorate, and shot them while a six-month-old girl survived the accident."

The witnesses stated that the head of the family works as a truck driver, and described the crime as "appalling" and said that it comes in light of the low security situation and the expansion of armed groups in the streets, especially at night.

According to witnesses, the security forces are conducting an investigation to find out the motives for this incident.
