The confidence given by the French to Emmanuel Macron and his Prime Minister Edouard Philippe is up by 2 and 4 points respectively over a month, according to an Elabe poll released on Monday.

In total, 30% of those questioned place their trust in the head of state to face the country's problems and 65% do not trust him, including 38% "not at all confident" (+ 2 points), according to this study by Elabe for Les Echos and Radio Classique.

Edouard Philippe, who like Emmanuel Macron lost 5 points the previous month, regains 4, with 30% of favorable opinions. 62% (-1) of French people do not trust the Prime Minister.

The confidence rating of the Head of State is down among his voters in 2017 (67%, -4), but increasing among those of François Fillon (43%, +4), those of Marine Le Pen ( 16%, +4) and abstainers (21%, +8).

With 52% of positive opinions (+2), Nicolas Hulot still largely dominates the ranking of political figures whose French have a positive image, ahead of Nicolas Sarkozy (33%, +1), Jean-Yves Le Drian (30%, stable) and François Baroin (29%, +3), tied with Xavier Bertrand (29%, +1).

Tested for the first time, the High Commissioner for Pensions Jean-Paul Delevoye recorded 12% positive opinions and 39% negative opinions (49% did not comment).

Survey carried out online on December 12 and 13 among 1,003 people aged 18 and over, using the quota method. Margin of error from 1.4 to 3.1 points.
