“We strongly condemn attempts at any contacts with the so-called republics in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. Such contacts, albeit disguised as “mediation,” in no way contribute to peace, but, on the contrary, are harmful, ”Ukrinform quoted her comment in connection with the meeting of the Bundestag deputy from the Alternative for Germany faction in Minsk, PACE member Ulrich Oeme with representatives of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry also noted that the German government supports Kiev’s position on the impossibility of contacts with the DPR and LPR.
Earlier, Oeme proposed involving DPR and LPR in the Norman negotiations.
A member of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs, Sergei Tsekov, in an interview with RT, called the direct dialogue between Kiev and the Donbass the main step towards a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
