A criminal court in Dubai sentenced to three months imprisonment, followed by the expulsion of an Asian examiner with a well-known optics company, after he was convicted of harassing a woman who had taken refuge in the store where he works for a visual examination in order to obtain a driving license based on a recommendation from the Institute of Automotive Education.
Investigations stated that the woman turned to the store accountant in a silent manner and handed him a paper containing its contents that the examiner harassed her, but the accountant ignored her and threw the paper in the garbage, but was supported by an Asian employee working in the leadership institute and helped her face the harasser.
The victim said in the investigations of the Dubai Public Prosecution, that she went to the branch of the Driving Institute in a commercial center to obtain a driver’s license, so the specialist examined the papers with her and asked her to provide a visual examination certificate, and guided her to a known optics store, so she went there where he asked her The accused enter the examination room to complete the operation.
While sitting on the examination apparatus, the examiner asked her about personal matters, including her residence and whether she had a friend or husband, then invited her to dinner, then offered her to marry, and she answered him by refusing.
She added that she remained about half an hour in the examination room, and then asked her for her phone number, so she thought that it was an action with the aim of including it in the required papers, but she was surprised by it ringing on her phone, and during her exit from the room, the examiner preceded her to the door and prevented her from going out, then grabbed her and cornered her in a corner The room and tried to kiss her, but she repulsed him and accepted her cheek.
She indicated that she went out and wrote a paper and delivered it to the accountant stating that she was subjected to harassment by the examiner, but that he folded it and threw it in the garbage, so she returned to the Driving Institute and informed the employee of what happened with her so he accompanied her to the store, confronted the accused who approved and apologized, so he asked him to sign a written apology Then, a complaint was filed against him by the Dubai Police, who referred him to the Public Prosecution and from there to the Criminal Court.
