Gambia: "Deyda Hidara will remain in the journals of journalism"

Fifteen years ago, Gambian journalist Deyda Hydara was murdered while driving his car, on the orders of former President Yahya Jammeh. Deyda Hydara was notably the correspondent of Agence France Presse (AFP) and Reporter sans frontières (RSF) in Banjul.

Deyda Hydara was killed on the evening of December 16, 2004, the anniversary of her newspaper The Point Newspaper . A party in which the current Gambian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mamadou Tangara should have participated.
