Caroline moved to Varberg just over a year ago after living in Sundsvall for seven years and waiting to get a job as a nurse here, she got the idea of doing what she had been thinking for so long.
- I want to help with my company. It can be anything from just going for a walk, cooking dinner or letting them meet my children, if they themselves have no children or grandchildren. As a home service staff, you often don't have the time to just sit down and talk, she says.
And she therefore went out with a search on social media: "Does anyone know a lone pensioner here in Varberg who wants a walk mate?" And the post has received positive response.
- Many are very happy and positive about this but also surprised. Which I do not understand why. To me, it's no wonder you want to help others, ”she says.
"Pure free will"Caroline now hopes there are several older people who contact her to socialize and she plans to be available even after the holidays in sight.
- I also want to emphasize that this is free and of pure free will. I just want to be nice and I would have appreciated it if I sat myself, says Caroline.
