Microsoft will end official support for the Windows 7 operating system on January 14, 2020, which means that the system will not get updates and any security vulnerabilities you may discover in it will not be filled, which is a serious problem due to the increasing number of newly discovered security vulnerabilities, which are Use them to leak malware and malicious code to computers.

For this, experts advise the need to switch to using the copy of Windows 10, the last operating system from Microsoft, as this system accepts the installation key for the version of Windows 7, as long as it is present with the version of Windows installed on the device, if the copy is original and not pirated.

There are three ways to switch from Windows 7 to Windows 10, according to the German computer magazine "CT":

1- Upgrade the operating system.
2- Replacing the old system by reinstalling Windows 10.
3- Installing Windows 10 in parallel with the old Windows 7.

In all cases, the user must perform a backup of all data, in addition to downloading the Microsoft Media Creation Tool so that the user can download all the necessary data for Windows 10 and store it on a flash storage (USB).

The advantage of switching is that programs, settings, and data remain the same, and this also applies in the case of parallel installation, where the usual Windows 7 installation remains and can be used by restarting the device.

Another advantage of parallel installation - and also when reinstalling Windows - is getting a new, "clean" Windows 10 version on the device.

Windows 7 upgrade
If relying on the upgrade method, German experts are advised to check the operating system again and update the drivers to the latest mode, especially important drivers such as the graphics card or the USB interface.

In addition, the antivirus software is uninstalled, because Windows 10 includes its own Defender program, otherwise the upgrade process may fail due to old drivers or due to interference from antivirus software.

And if the user wants to upgrade the operating system, he must insert a CD or a USB flash drive that includes Windows 10 into the computer that has Windows 7 installed, after which the file will be called. Setup.exe ".

Windows 7 replacement
And if the user wants to reinstall Windows 10 again and completely replace Windows 7, the computer must be restarted with a DVD or a USB unit that includes the Windows 10 system installed in the computer, in order for the device to boot from this media.

Parallel installation
With regard to the parallel installation of Windows 10 in addition to Windows 7, an empty partition must be available on the hard disk. If this partition is not available, it can be set up by managing the Windows hard drive via (Control Panel / Management Tools / Computer Management), from During the partitioning of the already available partition area.

Among the first steps that should be taken when installing Windows 10 system: check the privacy settings and data protection through the "Settings / Privacy" menu items which can be accessed by clicking on the Windows icon in the lower left side, then clicking on the gear icon.

And if the user wants to modify the various menus, he can use the free privacy tool "O&O ShutUp10" which offers him detailed settings to enhance privacy and preserve data, and it is prepared once.
