Venezuelan authorities accuse opposition leaders of preparing terrorist attacks

Venezuelan Minister of Communications and Information Jorge Rodriguez accused leaders of the country's opposition forces in preparing attacks on military units.

"The leader of the opposition party" Narodnaya Volya "Leopoldo Lopez instructed Juan Guaido and MP Janet Fermin to carry out attacks on two military units: the headquarters of the Great Marshal Sucre and the command of the 53rd unit of the National Guard," TASS quoted him as saying.

According to Rodriguez, the attacks were supposed to happen on December 15. The minister also said that funds for the attacks were received from Colombia.

At the end of November, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro ordered the mobilization of the country's armed forces, declaring provocations from Colombia and the United States.
