It is mainly tourists in hotels and cafes who are affected by the theft of theft. The thieves have been involved in cafés Vetekatten, Hotell Continental and Hotell Nordic Light in Stockholm.

Police caught sight of the league by chance when one of the members was caught in an apartment with stolen goods in Sollentuna.

"In the apartment we found theft and three of the members of the league could later be sentenced to imprisonment and deportation," says Monika Krüger, head of international crime networks, IBN, at the Border Police Unit in Stockholm.

Sentenced for theft throughout the country

The theft league, which has been in Sweden for the past three summers, is suspected to have committed about 100 thefts in Stockholm, Uppsala, Västerås and Malmö. The prosecutor, however, chose to only prosecute the league members for thefts committed this year and they are sentenced for a total of 34 thefts.

Two people are sentenced to two years in prison and ten years in prison for theft while a third person is sentenced to three months in prison for theft and five years in prison.
