In Sevastopol, preparing for towing a sunken floating dock with a submarine

The floating dock PD-16 and the decommissioned submarine, sunk on the night of December 15 in the southern bay of Sevastopol, are being prepared for towing to the disposal site.



This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the information support department of the Black Sea Fleet (Black Sea Fleet) of the press service of the Southern Military District.

According to a spokesman, the PD-16 and the submarine’s hull, which was in it, were decommissioned more than 10 years ago and must be disposed of.

“Currently, technical work is underway to prepare for towing to the disposal site,” the press service said.

Earlier, at the 13th shipyard of the Black Sea Fleet, it was reported that on the night of December 15 in the southern bay of Sevastopol, the floating ship PD-16 sank. It contained a decommissioned and decommissioned submarine B-380. Submarine later surfaced. There are no injuries.
