The Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, received a phone call from Lebanese President Michel Aoun. During the call, the situation in Lebanon was discussed.

During the call, the bilateral relations between the two countries were reviewed and ways of enhancing them. Sheikh Tamim welcomed the invitation extended to him by the Lebanese President to visit Lebanon.

The Emir of Qatar visited Lebanon last January to participate in the Arab Economic Summit, which was hosted by the capital, Beirut.

Earlier yesterday, Saturday, Qatari Minister of Finance Ali Sharif Al-Emadi said during the Doha Forum held in the Qatari capital that Qatar would be committed to standing with Lebanon, stressing that its economic and political stability is important for the Gulf countries.

This call came in light of the political crisis in Lebanon, and after the Harak pushed Saad Hariri's government to resign in late October, as talks between the main party forces on forming a new government went to a dead end.
