Yesterday, the Dubai Health Authority launched a service to transport the medicine to the homes of patients free of charge, targeting senior citizens and people of determination, in addition to the difficult health conditions that prevent their health conditions from reaching the pharmacies ’pharmacies to receive the medicine, according to the Authority’s Director General Hamid Muhammad Al Qatami.

Al-Qatami said during a press conference held by the authority yesterday that the new service is the first of its kind in its integration and in its electronic systems related to the data and information base in the authority, which is a bus equipped with the latest technologies and specifications, accompanied by a specialized pharmacist to deliver the medicine and provide consultations and answer questions, In addition to the recommendations and medical advice provided by the pharmacist on the uses of drugs and their effectiveness.

The authority inaugurated two mobile pharmacies under the title "My Medicines", as part of an expansion plan that will be implemented in the next stage to cover Dubai in full, through a group of buses equipped, according to the Authority's director general, Hamid Mohammed Al Qatami.

Al-Qatami explained that the pharmaceutical and pharmaceutical services are one of the priority services provided in the development authority’s plans and programs, and that “Dubai Health” spares no effort in developing these services with human dimensions, to facilitate obtaining the drug and providing it in accordance with the highest levels of accuracy and safety.

He stated that the mobile pharmacy is one of the package of initiatives implemented by the authority at the level of drug services, as it was preceded by the "smart pharmacy" in the hospitals and some primary health care centers.

He emphasized that the development of pharmaceutical and pharmaceutical services in the authority is based on applying the latest technologies, smart solutions, systems and standards in the world to ensure the safety of the drug in all its stages until it reaches the dealers. This includes the barcode system and the Cold Chain, which are the best in the safety, quality and efficacy of medicines.

He pointed out that the UAE has witnessed during the past years successive developments in the pharmaceutical sector, whether in terms of production or distribution, adding that these developments have made the country an important attraction point for major pharmaceutical industry and trade companies, which the Emirates preferred to manage its activity in one of the vital industries Extremely important in the world.

The Director of the Pharmacy and Drugs Administration of the Authority, Dr. Ali Al-Sayed, accompanied the mobile pharmacy on its first trip to deliver the medicine to one of the patients at his home, explaining that the target of the service can communicate directly with the pharmacy, to request the medicine and deliver it to them in their homes.

The new service is the first in its integration and electronic systems related to the Authority's database.
