The United States is restoring restrictive measures against the Iranian uranium enrichment facility in Fordo. This was announced by a representative of the State Department.

“On November 18, Secretary of State Pompeo announced that the United States will lift sanctions exceptions on December 15 for modifying cascades of centrifuges at the Fordo nuclear facility in Iran. Iran previously announced the resumption of uranium enrichment at the facility, ”TASS quoted him as saying.

In November, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian did not rule out the imposition of sanctions against Iran due to Tehran's failure to comply with its obligations under the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan (JCPOA).

On November 18, United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the US side would lift the sanctions exemption for the Fordo nuclear facility in Iran.

In early November, Iran began enriching uranium in Fordo. In this regard, the Foreign Ministers of Germany, France and the United Kingdom expressed extreme concern.
