Oslo (dpa) - The Norwegians are converting their outdated telephone booths into small libraries. Minister of Culture Trine Skei Grande inaugurated the first official reading station of its kind in Oslo this week. "A great initiative that hopefully makes it easier for people to read books," wrote the minister in her Instagram story. In the near future, all 100 remaining telephone booths in the country are to be converted into such reading kiosks. As elsewhere in the world, telephone booths in Norway have become almost superfluous in the age of cell phones and smartphones.
