Jessica is not alone in having been visited by the thieves. During the last period, horse owners and farms in Kungsbacka municipality have been exposed to more thefts of saddles. According to the police, it should be six thefts reported so far.
- It is probably a league that specializes in saddles and this has occurred in several other places in other regions. The thieves have also acted aggressively in the past, so it is better to observe than confront if you encounter the thieves, says Peter Aldersson, the police spokesperson.
Due to recent events, the police have issued a call to the public to contact them with tips.
- It's difficult to get hold of these thieves, so it's important to report as soon as you can, says Peter Aldersson.
"Feels really scary"Inside Jessica's stable, the burglars had rotated among the drawers and broken open the door to the saddle chamber. When she was prepared for the worst to happen, the thieves did not get what they were looking for, but even though nothing was stolen, the burglary has left their mark.
- The worst thing about this is that someone ruthlessly broke in and went around and rooted among our stuff. It feels really creepy, she says.
What tips do you have for other horse owners?
- If you want to be extra safe, bring your saddles home. We've had them in the hall and stumbled on them now for three years but it made us do this time, she says.
