Prime Minister Edouard Philippe asked SNCF on Friday evening to prepare a "transport plan" specifying which trains would be maintained at the end of the holiday season.

Mr. Philippe "asked the CEO of SNCF (Jean-Pierre Farandou) to present by Tuesday a transport plan which will allow everyone to know precisely and with certainty which trains will be kept in circulation during the weekend of departure for the Christmas holidays ", announced Matignon at the end of a meeting in the evening between the head of government, Mr. Farandou, and the patron of RATP Catherine Guillouard.

Farandou had earlier called the rail workers on strike against the pension reform to "take a break" during the holidays, union officials immediately returning the ball to the government side.

Very followed, the strike against the disappearance of the special pension plans of the SNCF and the RATP strongly disrupts rail traffic since December 5. It should disrupt Christmas departures if it continues over the next few days, especially since it takes several days after the end of a movement to return to normal service.
