December 14, 2019The President of the Valle d'Aosta Region, Antonio Fosson, resigns. He announced it - as learned from Ansa - during an extraordinary majority meeting at the Regional Palace. The reasons are related to the guarantee notice received by the Dda for mafia political election exchange regarding an investigation on the conditioning of the 2018 Regionals in Valle d'Aosta by the 'nrangrangeta.

Councilors Laurent Viérin (tourism and cultural heritage) and Stefano Borrello (public works) have also announced that they will resign. The director Luca Bianchi, on the other hand, will leave the position of commission president and group leader of the Union valdotaine. All three are under investigation - together with Fosson - for mafia political electoral exchange in the context of a Dda inquiry into the conditioning of the regional elections of 2018 in the Valle d'Aosta by the 'ndrangheta.
