The Roads and Transport Authority has called on companies and institutions in the business sector at the local, regional and international levels to participate in submitting their offers, to implement and install more than 1500 umbrellas for public transport bus passengers, in a number of areas of the Emirate of Dubai with a new design, in the framework of the Authority's continuous endeavor to develop the mass transport sector And develop the infrastructure that depends on it, and bring happiness to the population, and provide the best services and amenities for bus users, given the high temperatures during the summer period.

Matar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority said: “This initiative comes in line with the leadership’s vision to enhance the partnership between the public and private sectors to ensure happiness for the population by creating a more prosperous life for them, while continuing to expand, grow and develop in the Emirate of Dubai in All sectors, and the Authority is keen to contribute to providing the best services and facilities for the emirate's residents and visitors alike, through a safe, easy and comfortable transportation experience, stressing the Authority's keenness to meet the requirements of the rapid urban and population expansion witnessed in the Emirate of Dubai, by providing all its services to those Areas, and in the forefront of mass transit services.

He added: «The strategic initiative is a promising opportunity for private sector institutions, who are willing to participate in the implementation and installation of 1500 umbrellas for bus passengers in new locations and stages, during two or three years, as the developer will also be responsible for operating and maintaining these umbrellas for a period of up to 10 years , With the possibility of renewal for another similar period, in exchange for exploiting the rights of advertising in these umbrellas ».

The authority invited local and international companies specialized in developing campus roads and the integration of the smart city to submit offers that include innovative models, to achieve the return, including advertisements without being limited to them, and meet the requirements of the integration of smart cities, to provide the best experience for the comfort and service of passengers. The commission emphasized the need for the implementing agency (prospective partner) to have flexibility, to provide innovative models to achieve returns.
