On Monday, seven patients were sent from the county hospital in Sundsvall to Örnsköldsvik due to a lack of space. In addition to the lack of staff, the municipality is not able to offer space to pre-treated patients in need of municipal housing. Instead, they remain in the hospital.
- We are working to reduce overcrowding, but we must do this together with the municipality to get a good flow.
According to Elina Backlund Arab (S), vice chair of the health committee, the number of overcrowding is decreasing overall in the region.
