The police arrested a man from Amsterdam on Friday afternoon at Amsterdam Sloterdijk station who threatened with an explosive.
The 21-year-old man would have called at Amsterdam Central that he wanted to blow up a train. He then got on the train and was stopped at the Sloterdijk station by the Quick Response Team of the police.
No explosives have been found and the situation is safe, police report. Shocked passengers were taken care of by the Dutch Railways.
The Amsterdam station was evacuated due to the threat, but has since been released. Thanks to the deployment of the police, fewer trains were temporarily running between Amsterdam Sloterdijk and Haarlem.
