Had Lucia train every year at school. One day you looked forward to all year. Taught us to collaborate and develop it every year. A useful lesson about someone. And then I remember it as playful. And Lucy Day was so warm, cozy and loving. Stress and pressure? Not what I remember. Maybe with the teachers. ;-)

Here's how Yvonne writes on SVT Västmanland's Facebook page:

"I think the school could have homework and tests free days before lucia so that the young people did not feel stressed. For I can think this is a tradition, a break from the other days of the school, which can be a nice addition."

How do you do at preschool where you work, or where your child goes? On this one you no longer have Lucia trains live. Instead, a video is recorded in advance for parents and relatives to see:

I really do not think that school children should be forced to join the Lucia celebration. This press, who can be Lucia? Does anyone want to be Lucia? etc
In low and middle school, I always had the feeling that different celebrations were mainly a way for the music teachers to show what they could through the children, a thing more to tick off to show the employer that they did their job. I never ever got the feeling that it was done for the sake of the children. In addition, the Lucia celebrations at the school have cost us a good deal of money over the years, in a school that is so-called free of charge.
Don't let anyone who really wants to join the Lucia train, with the school clothes, glitter and candles, force everyone to join.

Of course we should celebrate Lucia, or should we remove Christmas and midsummer as well?

It is a tradition that should absolutely remain! It really is a highlight to go and watch.
Sad that it is disappearing more and more.
