The funeral service for Luzhkov in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior was performed by the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill.
The farewell ceremony was attended by Russian leader Vladimir Putin and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
Luzhkov died on December 10 at the age of 83.
