It is reported by Sky News with reference to the police of New Zealand.
In total, about 50 people were on the island at the time of the eruption. Most of them suffered severe burns and were hospitalized.
Earlier, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said that during the eruption, 11 Australians went missing, 13 were injured and were taken to hospitals.
The police began an investigation into the death of people as a result of the eruption.
