The successful actress Nicole de Buron, famous in the 1960s for the soap opera "Les Saintes Chéries", died Wednesday at the age of 90, we learned Thursday from his entourage.

"Nicole de Buron passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2019," said in a statement the ComProd agency which deals in particular with the communication of the Compagnie des Bateaux-Mouches led by Nicole de Buron's daughter, Charlotte Bruel.

Born in January 1929 in Tunis, Nicole de Buron began her career as a journalist with Marie Claire before turning to fiction writing.

His books had a great popular success in the 1960s. His novel "Sainte Cherie" (1964) was adapted for television the following year under the title "Les Saintes Chéries" with Micheline Presle and Daniel Gelin. The serial was broadcast from 1965 to 1970.

Screenwriter and dialogue writer, Nicole de Buron had written two other television series ("Who is this boy?", 1987 and "What is this little job?", 1991).

In the 1970s, she had signed the script for several feature films including two films by Gérard Pirès: "Erotissimo" with Annie Girardot and "She runs, she runs the suburbs" with Marthe Keller and Jacques Higelin. In 1978, she herself had directed "Vas-m maman" again with Annie Girardot.

She was married to Jean Bruel (1917-2003), founder of Compagnie des Bateaux-Mouches, with whom she had two daughters.

Nicole de Buron was awarded the Mérite Agricole for the quality of exploitation of her agricultural estate La Flassane near Limoux in Castelreng (Aude) where she must be buried.
