12 December 2019CasaPound won the legal battle against Facebook. The Civil Court of Rome accepted the appeal presented by the association following the deactivation of the official page on 9 September. "In conclusion, the appeal must be accepted and Facebook must be ordered the immediate reactivation of the page of the CasaPound Social Promotion Association", reads the sentence signed by the judge Stefania Garrisi. The order refers to the "total acceptance" of the appeal presented by CasaPound.

The Court of Rome has also set the penalty of 800 euros for each day of violation of the order given, following the legal knowledge of the same, condemning Facebook to the reimbursement of court fees, liquidated in 15,000 euros.

September 9 the closing of the official, national and local pages by Facebook
On 9 September, the official national and local pages of the two extreme right-wing movements CasaPound and Forza Nuova and dozens of profiles of their leaders - including the president of CasaPound Gianluca Iannone, Simone Di Stefano and the secretary of Forza Nuova Roberto Fiore - and their representatives have been removed from both Facebook and Instagram.

The Californian company, which in our country has more than 55 million users on the two social networks (it is the sum of the members of Facebook and Instagram according to Vincenzo Cosenza, many are obviously present on both), had applied its norm on dangerous persons and organizations , which in 2018 led to the removal of the profiles of the British ultra-right group Britain First. "It is not allowed who" spreads hatred or attacks others based on who they are - a Facebook spokesman explained -. Candidates and political parties must respect these rules, regardless of their ideology. The accounts we have removed cannot be present on Facebook or Instagram ".

Iannone: "Important victory"
"Today is a beautiful day, we won and bring home an important sentence that shows how the political court set up against us had no reason to exist". Thus the leader of Casapound Gianluca Iannone comments to the Adnkronos the sentence of the Civil Court of Rome which, accepting the appeal presented by the association following the deactivation of the official page last September 9th, ordered Facebook the immediate reactivation of the page .

"The civil court has recognized our reasons and now all our pages will have to be reactivated otherwise there will be a fine of 800 euros for each day of non-reactivation. It is an important victory - reiterates Iannone - because it was a pretentious closure in the against a Movement that has elected representatives in the municipal councils with the symbol of the tortoise arrow. This is a victory of Casapound and of a whole non-aligned political world ".
