The event happened in May when Jimmie Åkesson visited Tranås to attend a square meeting. In connection with the visit, the boy threw the firecracker at Åkesson.
"It sounded very loud and it still rings a little in the ear," Åkesson told Tranås Tidning a while later.
A few days before the incident in Tranås, a firefighter was thrown at Jimmie Åkesson's car during a visit to Mariestad. A 17-year-old boy was indicted for the attack, and was sentenced by Skaraborg District Court to juvenile care for offenders.
