The Office of the Investigative Committee for Moscow began a preliminary investigation into the death of 42-year-old journalist Mikhail Vinogradov, deputy editor of the department of special correspondents and observers of “Evening Moscow”. According to preliminary data, Mikhail Vinogradov called an ambulance due to bleeding that opened after discharge from the hospital. Arriving medical workers allegedly bandaged and left without stopping the blood.

“At present, the necessary verification measures are being taken to establish all the circumstances of the incident. Based on the results of the audit, a procedural decision will be made, ”the department told RT.

“I had to sit in a pool of blood”

Mikhail Vinogradov turned to doctors because his lymph node increased in his groin. In the hospital, he spent two weeks, he underwent surgery.

On December 9, he was discharged from the hospital, returned home, had already planned to close the sick-list and return to work. But suddenly, he began to bleed.

He described the events of the evening on his page in social networks. “I'm sitting in the kitchen, documenting an evening dose of nicotine. Suddenly! Time! How to splash hot on thighs! I already looked at the kettle, suddenly the boiling water somehow got on me ... I ran into the bathroom, and blood was pouring from me, like Tarantino’s cranberry sauce. It was a sinful affair that I thought that everything had jumped to the breaking of the artery wall! ”Said Vinogradov.

Further, as Mikhail reported, he called the emergency services. Making the call, he said, took a lot of time - the journalist was not immediately transferred to an ambulance, and then again demanded to tell the details of what happened to him. “And the blood is whipping, it’s hard for me to stand, my head went back and forth - I had to sit down. In a pool of blood, yes ... ”, the journalist added.

The ambulance brigade arrived, as Vinogradov wrote, informed him that the artery was not damaged - a large vessel was damaged "and the hole itself is already closing." When leaving, the doctors recommended Michael to attach frozen chicken to the area of damage.

“In general, they put a flap with collagen, on top of the bandage, and even the paramedic personally looked into the freezer. She chose a broiler chicken and says: "Here it is an hour." Yeah of course. An hour in the groin to keep frozen chicken. But I do not argue, it is necessary - it means it is necessary, ”said Mikhail Vinogradov.

Then the journalist believed that he would stay on sick leave for another couple of days. At the same time, he noted that he did not understand why such heavy bleeding had opened. This post was the last - two days after the ambulance call, Mikhail Vinogradov died.

“There were no signs of bleeding”

Meanwhile, Moscow City Health published an official message in which it described its version of what happened. The department noted that "a few days" before the events described by Vinogradov, he underwent surgery because of soft tissue inflammation "at the site of multiple injections of unknown substances that were independently performed."

The first call came on December 9 at 23:30, a team of doctors was in place 12 minutes later. By that time, there were no signs of bleeding. Doctors applied an aseptic dressing and gave a standard recommendation in such cases to apply something cold to the dressing and also visit a surgeon.

On December 10, Vinogradov turned to the surgeon, and he was given directions for hospitalization "in connection with the presence of a wound process." However, the journalist, as stated in the message of the Moscow City Health, did not arrive at the hospital.

The next day, a second call arrived. The arrived team delivered Vinogradov to the hospital, as suppuration appeared in the area of the postoperative wound, but there was no bleeding at that moment.

Already in the hospital, the patient's condition worsened, presumably due to the sudden rupture of the femoral artery. Vinogradov died after massive bleeding, "despite ongoing surgical and resuscitation measures."

Wait for examination

The next day, according to media reports, Mikhail bleeding again. He called an ambulance again, and this time he was hospitalized - he was taken to the 51st hospital, where he died on December 12. The causes of death are not yet known - an examination that will allow them to be established is scheduled for the next day.

According to experts, the actions of ambulance paramedics who did not hospitalize Mikhail should be checked by the investigating authorities.

“I immediately advised relatives to apply to the Investigative Committee with statements about the initiation of criminal cases under Art. 124 or 293 of the Criminal Code (“refusal to provide medical care to the patient” and “negligence”), said RT Alexander Saversky, president of the Patient Advocates League.

At the same time, he clarified that, not having all the information, it was too early to draw any conclusions. “We don’t know what happened next, what is the cause of death, law enforcement agencies should carefully sort everything out,” Saversky added.

Mikhail Vinogradov began working in the field of journalism immediately after graduating from Moscow State University, where he studied as a teacher of history. His first job was the Izvestia newspaper. He also managed to work in such publications as “Glance”, “Profile”, “Labor”, “Top Secret”.

His last place of work was the newspaper "Evening Moscow", where he mainly wrote on historical topics. As colleagues recall, Vinogradov was distinguished by high professionalism and erudition.

“I worked with Misha in Izvestia’s political department in the mid-2000s. He knew the story well, talked a lot about the military uniform of different times, was a man of encyclopedic knowledge. He knew many deputies, politicians who treated him with respect - he also worked in the State Duma as a parliamentary correspondent. He was a man of great talent, and his articles, written before the era of “clickbait” journalism, are now read in the same breath, ”recalls his colleague Alexander Bratersky.

Michael left his wife Catherine and son Artemy.
