The High Authority for the Transparency of Public Life (HATVP), which scrutinizes the heritage and activities of members of the government, told AFP continue its controls on the case of High Commissioner Jean-Paul Delevoye.

On Monday, Mr. Delevoye resigned as a volunteer administrator from a training institute in the sector, Ifpass (Training Institute of the Insurance Profession), which he had held since 2016 but which he had not declared, as revealed by Le Parisien in the midst of the conflict over pension reform. An "error" and "an omission by forgetting" had reacted Mr. Delevoye, accused since a conflict of interest with the insurance industry.

On Tuesday, he decided to step down from the IGS training group and pledged to reimburse the "sums received" if they were found to be "inconsistent" with his position as High Commissioner. He is therefore no longer president of the HEP Education Parallaxe think tank within this group, a position held since 2017, paid in 2018 and 2019 for a total of 5,368.38 euros per month, according to his declaration of interests. However, the Constitution proscribes the cumulation of the function of member of the government and "any professional activity".

"We have exchanges with Mr. Delevoye, as part of the normal process of control, which is done in a confidential manner", it was said to the HATVP, independent authority.

Like any member of the government, Mr. Delevoye, who arrived in September, completed a declaration of assets, verified in connection with the tax authorities before publication, as well as a declaration of interests and activities. This one, filled mid-November, is visible since last week on the site of the HATVP, which does not prevent the control to continue.

"With any declarant, we enter into a dialogue as soon as elements appear poorly presented, missing, etc. We can request modifying declarations in the event of a minor breach. If the omission is substantial, the College of the High Authority may decide to seize justice, "recalls the HATVP.

The association Anticor precisely asked Tuesday the HATVP such a referral on the case of the High Commissioner, for the omission of its links with the insurance industry.
