She also recalled that Luzhkov from January 1996 to December 2001 was a member of the upper house of parliament from Moscow.

It is noted that the meeting of the Moscow City Council on December 11 also began with a moment of silence.

Earlier it was reported that in Moscow, people lay flowers at the memorial to Luzhkov at the metropolitan city hall in Voznesensky Lane.

The funeral of the ex-mayor of the capital will be held at the Novodevichy cemetery on Thursday, December 12, after the funeral in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.

Luzhkov died on December 10 at the age of 83.
