A police car patrolling in the city center was hit in the side of a truck in central Jönköping. Emergency services, several police patrols and an ambulance were ordered to the scene.
- The accident happened at an intersection. The police car was not called, and it appears to be the truck driver who has not observed weighing duty, says Åsa Willsund, the police press spokesman.
The accident occurred on Klostergatan north of Gjuterigatan. The collision was so severe that the two police officers in the car had to be taken to hospital by ambulance. Reportedly, they should have had neck and back pain.
- No blame for the accident lies with the police, but the incident must be investigated, says Åsa Willsund.
