Leipzig (AP) - The Spanish star tenor José Carreras has announced that he wants to end his singing career. "I think I will sing for another two years," said the 73-year-old co-founder of the "Three Tenors" of dpa. Then he wants to devote himself entirely to his leukemia foundation - as well as family and friends. For the 25th time, the José Carreras Gala will take place on Thursday - for the first time since 2012 back in Leipzig, "where everything began", as the singer emphasized. He overcame leukemia three decades ago.
