The Israeli Foreign Ministry confirmed that an Israeli official delegation headed by the Director General of the Ministry, Yuval Rotem, secretly visited the UAE last Sunday, and met in Dubai with senior Emirati officials.

She added that the delegation signed a formal agreement regarding the participation of Israel in the "Expo" exhibition hosted by the UAE next year, and that it will start after a week of work to prepare the Israeli pavilion.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry indicated that the delegation included senior officials from the Prime Minister's Office and various Israeli ministries.

In a statement on the ministry’s Facebook page, Israeli Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz said that Israel's participation in the exhibition "gives it an extraordinary opportunity to show its capabilities and achievements."

For its part, the official Israeli "Kan" channel said that the talks dealt with the possibility of the UAE authorities granting entry visas to the Israelis to visit Dubai during the exhibition period, but confirmed that "nothing was agreed upon at this stage."

The international exhibition, designed to showcase the achievements of nations, takes place every five years, lasts for up to six months, and attracts millions of visitors from all over the world.

The international exhibition will be launched in Dubai in October 2020.

The United Arab Emirates has not formally commented on the statements of the Israeli Foreign Ministry.

On the other hand, an Israeli TV channel reported that the former chief rabbi of Israel, Shlomo Ammar, met Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in Manama on Monday.

The 12th Israeli channel (especially) said that the rabbi participated in a conference of clerics in the Bahraini capital, in the presence of clerics from countries, including Kuwait, Lebanon, Egypt and Jordan.

The channel added that the rabbi met religious figures from Arab and non-Arab countries in the Middle East region.

The rabbi said during the conference that "the people of the Middle East want peace with Israel, and the leadership must consolidate this without fear," according to what the Israeli channel reported.
