This means that Jönköping County ranks highest in the ranking in the country in terms of the amount granted in relation to the number of inhabitants - SEK 546 per inhabitant if the close to SEK 200 million is knocked out.

Andreas Olsson, energy and climate strategist at the County Administrative Board of Jönköping County, believes that the great interest in solar energy in the county is due to several reasons.

- We have had a lot of focus on solar energy here. For example, we have had the drive with a solar car race, we have arranged solar safari, engaged high school students who in turn spread the message to parents and so on.

Think that development is going on

According to Andreas Olsson, it was previously primarily municipalities that invested in solar power, but this is something that has changed in recent years.

He believes that collaboration is the way forward and since 2011, the county administrative board has been working with 60 organizations to further accelerate the conversion to solar power.

Is this a development that you think will last?

- Yes, until we have an abundance of solar energy, it will probably go away. But we might be there in 10-15 years. It is only a matter of time before solar cells deliver electricity to people everywhere.
