The municipality's event company Destination Halmstad expects 70,000 visitors during the SM week, which is held last week in June in Halmstad.
Now all arenas are presented. The competitions will be spread in eleven places in Halmstad. The biggest competition arena will be at Stora torg where the competitions in, among other things, street basketball, roller skis and sprint orientation are decided. The sport like stand up paddle, canoe sprint and rowing is decided on Nissan in the center.
In contrast, athletics have been lifted away from Halmstad as the running tracks in Halmstad's arena do not meet the safety requirements for championships.
- It has been decided that Team-SM in athletics will be arranged at Ryavallen in Borås - as part of the SM-week, says Johnny Ewerstein, project manager for the SM-week in Halmstad, in a press release.
The Swedish Week is arranged by the National Sports Federation, the Special Sports Federation and the Municipality of Halmstad. SVT will broadcast the competitions.
