In March 2020, a new "climate law" will be presented where the goal of climate neutral until 2050 becomes law, which will help ensure that all future EU laws comply with the climate law.

By the summer of 2020, the European Commission will present a plan to reduce EU greenhouse gas emissions by 50 per cent and preferably 55 per cent by 2030, compared with levels in 1990.
