Luka Karabatic, operated last week with his right hand, is absent from the list of 18 players selected for the preparation for the Euro-2020 handball announced Wednesday, but the coach Didier Dinart hopes to join the group during the tournament .

Pivot of Paris SG, Luka Karabatic suffered a dislocation of the right hand major in early December during the shock Champions League lost against Barcelona (35-32) and was operated on the third metacarpal.

The younger brother of Karabatic, whose unavailability is estimated by the PSG at six weeks, is however in the list of 28 players sent by Didier Dinart to the European Federation (EHF), in which he can draw two possible substitutes each turn (six in total) of the Euro-2020 (9-26 January).

"From my experience as a defender with several broken fingers, I can testify that this is not a major injury, so Luka could benefit from an early recovery," says Dinart, quoted in the statement of the French Federation hand.

Parisian Nedim Remili, who has been out of action since mid-November after a sprained right ankle, is on the other hand in the group of 18 players, gathered from December 26 in Créteil.

The French will play two matches of preparation, on January 3 in Metz against Serbia and January 5 in Paris against Denmark in the framework of the Golden League.

They will play the first round of Euro-2020 in Trondheim (Norway) against Portugal on January 10, Norway on January 12 and Bosnia and Herzegovina on January 14.
