Brussels (dpa) - EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen presents on Wednesday her plan for a "climate-neutral" Europe by 2050, the so-called Green Deal. It is planning a comprehensive legislative program to convert energy supply, industrial production, transport and agriculture within 30 years in a climate-friendly way. The announcement is intended as a signal to the ongoing UN climate conference in Madrid and to the EU summit on Thursday, which also has the goal of climate neutrality by 2050 on the agenda.
